Park Updates: New Picnic Table, Fresh Mulch & an Upcoming Tree Care Event
Great things are happening at Bill Robinson Park this summer — here's a quick roundup of what's new and what's coming up.
New Rainbow Picnic Table
Thanks to a partnership between the City of Richmond's Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Facilities and VA Pride, our park is now home to a brand-new Pride-themed rainbow picnic table. We're thrilled to have this colorful addition to the space and grateful to both organizations for making it happen.
Fresh Mulch in the Playground Areas
Parks & Rec recently came through with fresh mulch in the playground spaces, giving the area a cleaner look and better footing for the kids. A small but meaningful improvement — thanks to the department for taking care of it.
Volunteer Tree Care Workday — July 9th
Want to give back to the park? Join the City's Community Forestry program and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay for a Volunteer Tree Care Workday on Thursday, July 9th from 5:30-7:30pm. Volunteers will weed tree rootzones, spread mulch, and repair caging and irrigation devices for the trees planted in 2024. It's a great way to spend an evening and help the park's canopy grow strong.
All are welcome — hope to see you there!
